Terms of Use

These conditions govern every visit, search, and use of content on Sherman County Criminal History. Continuing to browse means that you accept all terms stated here. If you disagree with any condition, stop using the site.

NO FCRA USE. This privately run website has no connection to a local, Texas, or federal government body. It and its advertising partners do not provide tools for credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions, or for any other purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The site only helps readers locate Sherman County, Texas criminal-record sources. It is neither a consumer reporting agency nor a private investigation firm.

1. What This Website Is

This private reference site operates independently of government. It does not store official criminal records, retrieve documents, perform official checks, or submit paperwork for a user.

Its content identifies custodians of Sherman County records, including the sheriff and jail, criminal courts, Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Division, and Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Some pages also connect readers with outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

As a condition of access, you must not:

  • Use bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools on the pages
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or restricted resource
  • Use site information to threaten, stalk, or harass a person
  • Interfere with performance or prevent another visitor’s access
  • Rely on site content for employment, housing, credit, or insurance decisions
  • Violate a federal, Texas, or local law through use of the site

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

You may not use information found here or through a linked tool to stalk, intimidate, harass, threaten, or discriminate against anyone. Such conduct may also violate criminal law. Texas sex offender registry data requires particular care: the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry exists for safety awareness, and misuse against a listed person can carry criminal consequences. Vigilante conduct and discriminatory use are forbidden.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and produce no consumer, credit, or background report. Our advertising partners and this site do not provide services for evaluating applicants, renters, insurance risk, or credit. You agree that information from the site or a linked tool will not be used to:

  • Set insurance terms or judge creditworthiness
  • Evaluate an applicant for a rental or other housing
  • Make a hiring, firing, or other employment decision
  • Determine eligibility for a license, permit, or government benefit
  • Carry out any other activity regulated by the FCRA

When a lawful purpose requires a background report, use the Texas Department of Public Safety or a screening provider that complies with the FCRA and the law governing that purpose.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a Sherman County warrant, charge, conviction, expunction, or nondisclosure rule affects a specific person. Seek advice from a Texas-licensed attorney for that analysis.

6. No Warranties

All site content is supplied "as is." We make no promise that:

  • A partner’s search result will be correct or complete
  • Every page is free from defects, mistakes, or security weaknesses
  • The information remains accurate, current, and complete
  • Service will always be available without interruption

Charges may be filed or dismissed, and records may later be restricted or subject to expunction. Updates and gaps are unavoidable. Only the relevant sheriff, court, clerk, or Texas agency can make an official statement about its record.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to sheriff pages, court systems, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. We do not operate those destinations and accept no responsibility for their content, data practices, prices, or availability. Review a destination’s own terms before using it.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, code, logos, and graphics belong to Sherman County Criminal History or its content partners. Written permission is required before copying, distributing, adapting, or creating derivative material from that content.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we have no liability for damages arising from use of this site, including reliance on information obtained here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or proceedings caused by your use of the site or violation of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Texas law governs these terms. Any dispute tied to use of the site must be brought in a court located in Texas. Access to government information remains governed by applicable law, including the Texas Public Information Act, while dissemination of Texas criminal-history information is addressed in Government Code Chapter 411.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these conditions at any time. A revision takes effect when the updated terms are posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or terminated at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected language will be narrowed only as far as required to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be submitted through the Contact page.
